The Glasgow one day tournament was held this year under sunny skies (unlike last year!!!) on 2nd August 2008. Glasgow was happy to welcome teams from Edinburgh, Stirling and Newcastle as well as a number of Glasgow based teams. The competition was split into two pools as teams fought hard for the number one position. In the end the final was contested between the Edinburgh based Globetrotters and Glasgow's very own Spider Pork. It was a nail biting final with the Spiders coming through in the end to win the ‘awe inspiring’ cup by a final margin of 3-2. |

At the Trinity Accies tournament in Edinburgh last weekend, a Glasgow Lions side took the outright trophy, scoring 15 touch downs and conceding only three in five games. Sources close to Victor say that he may even have enjoyed himself! Victory by a side from outside Edinburgh was not expected with the Lions players now able to avail themselves of a free pass to an Edinburgh gym. Congratulations again to Doug Macrae, Jenny Nolan, Jennifer Freytag, Maura Lyons, Ruth Cameron, Ruth Wallace, Andrew Armstrong, Fraser Maclleland, Dave Young, Stephen Little, Chris Webber and Victor Francisco Suarez. |
